Classical Dressage Trainer and Instructor

Carlos Carneiro

Carlos Carneiro is a classical dressage trainer and instructor, horse owner and equestrian manager of a stable of 35 horses in Lousada, Portugal.

Carlos has had the opportunity to study classical dressage with some of the Worlds Great Masters. From 1996-1999 he studied with Luis Valença in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. From 2006-2007 he studied with Master João Oliveira in Walnut, CA, U.S.A.

He has performed professionally in many classical dressage displays including national shows, such as Golega e CSI do Porto, Cabeceiras de Basto and Vila Nova de Famalicao to name a few. Carlos has also performed in many international shows, such as Cheval Passion in France, Toured Europe to do shows such as The Royal Horse Gala and Apassionata and also had the honour of performing at The World Cup in Las Vegas, U.S.A. in front of the worlds top Grand Prix riders.

From 2008-2009 Carols was a classical dressage trainer at a prestigious stable in the U.S.A. involved with Lusitano horse sales.

Carlos has appeared on the cover and in the content of many books and articles, some of which include "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dressage, Barockes reiten - Nach F.R. De La Gueriniere" and magazines such as "Cavallo" and "Equitacao".

With his near perfect riding position, light hands and natural horsemanship he is able to make almost any horse happy to perform. With his good communication, high standard of work and motivated manner, he is skilled in getting the best results from both horse and rider. These attributes have made him in high demand as a trainer and instructor of classical dressage all around the world, including Portugal, Germany, U.S.A and the UK. 

Fernando Carneiro

Work Equitation/Classical Dressage Trainer and Instructor

Fernando Carneiro

Fernando is a classical trainer and instructor in Lousada near to Porto, Portugal. Fernando has also had the opportunity to study with one of the world greatest dressage Masters. From 1993-1996 he studied with Luis Valença in Vila Franca de Xira.

He has performed professionally in many classical dressage displays including national shows, such as Golega and CSI do Porto and Campo Pequeno in Lisbon. Internationally, Fernando has also performed in the Campo Grande, toured with Appassionata in Germany in 2005 and Vila Garcia de Arousa in Spain to name only a few.

He currently competes in Portuguese working equitation, where he has regularly taken first place. He is extremely patient and hard working with a professional attitude. These attributes have made him highly skilled as trainer and instructor of classical dressage.

Patricia Robertson

Show Jumping / Dressage Rider and Trainer

Patricia Robertson

Patricia was born in South Africa and started riding when she was nine years old. She later took up Vaulting (Gymnastics on horseback) where she went on to become South African Vaulting Champion four consecutive years from 1998 - 2001. Vaulting or “voltage” teaches riders to gain natural balance, agility and correct posture. She also competed successfully in many Dressage, Show jumping and Eventing Competitions.

Patricia combined her love for horses and films and became a stunt rider and wrangler for film and television. She was the lead riding double for Hayden Panettiere in the movie “Racing Stripes” and the riding double for Herrena in Terry Pratchett’s “The Colour of Magic”. She has worked on numerous adverts and commercials. And also performed with various stunt riding teams doing live trick riding and jousting shows throughout the UK. Patricia has also appeared on the cover and in the content of many books and articles, some of which include “The Horse Riding and Care Handbook” by Bernadette Faurie and “The Sporting Horse in Southern Africa”.

Patricia traveled to Portugal in 2007 where she met Carlos Carneiro and has been working and training with him in the art of classical dressage until present. They have performed together in a live classical dressage show at Equiqal in Spain.

Patricia Robertson has a natural affinity with horses and is an excellent equestrian with a wide range of experience. She has dedicated herself to strengthening riding techniques, though the practice of other equine disciplines, giving her an astute insight into the training of horses.
